I believe we can all benefit from therapy by giving ourselves time to focus. Admitting that we might need a counsellor can seem daunting. However, there are times when it helps to have someone to talk to outside of our immediate circle as we endeavour to make sense of thoughts, feelings and/or circumstances that may be causing distress.
As a counsellor and psychotherapist, I will listen to you carefully to discern the key areas of concern, and work with you to enable understanding and consider with you ways to bring about change.
I believe that counselling services should be accessible to everyone. As such, I am committed to providing a friendly, safe, and welcoming environment for all, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, socioeconomic situation, religion or ethnicity.
"People start to heal the moment they feel heard"
My name is Sarah, welcome to my website. I am an experienced bilingual Master NLP, Life Coach & Person-Centred counsellor/psychotherapist and able to provide therapy in English and Albanian. I provide a private and confidential counselling service and work with a diverse range of people from a wide range of backgrounds.
I chose to focus my training on the person-centred approach to therapy, which accords most closely with my own experience and philosophy. This approach provides a nurturing environment which will allow you to fully access your own powerful resources. I believe that working in this way will facilitate the development of greater self-awareness and provide you with the capacity to address your difficulties. It can open doors and make growth possible.
We can focus on a particular issue in detail, or take a broader view of you and your life so far. You can choose to work on a long-term basis or decide on a fixed number of sessions up front.
I trained across a wide range of different therapeutic approaches including, Person-Centred, Gestalt, Psychodynamic, Transactional Analysis & Transpersonal. When working with clients I adopt the most appropriate approach - depending on the client and depending on the issue presented.
I have worked in two agencies with clients facing a number of issues including trauma, depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, relationships and intimacy problems, addiction, loss, mental issues, stress, bullying and abuse. Whatever the reason you are seeking counselling, it can be helpful to have someone to talk with that is not going to judge, analyse or tell you what to do. My aim as a counsellor is to create a safe space to explore, to help you to a deeper understanding of yourself and assist you in finding your own way forward.
Clients I work with
Adults, Couples, Older adults, Young people.
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP https://www.bacp.co.uk) and I adhere to the BACP’s professional code of ethics.
I presented my research in the field of counselling and psychotherapy at 2018 BACP research conference.
I understand that counselling and seeking help for yourself can feel difficult and costly. However, I am a firm believer that emotional good health requires us to invest in ourselves.
Individuals £55 per session
Couples £75 per session
Person-centred counselling is non-directive and non-judgemental.
The approach encourages the client to freely express emotions and feelings, and explore in the here and now what goes on in their life and inner world. The counsellor supports the client in achieving their own potential for growth and problem resolution. The client is perceived by the person-centred counsellor as being the best expert of their own subjective experience.
The person-centred counsellor provides favourable conditions at all times during therapy through empathy, non-judgment and honesty, enabling the client to make sense of what goes on, to come to terms with negative feelings and to find inner resources that bring about change.
Depression, fear, and anxiety are some of the most common and uncomfortable emotions that we can experience at some point in our lives. Through counselling and treatment, I am able to help you recover motivation, perspective, and joy that you once had in your life.
Many individuals can experience symptoms associated with painful and traumatic circumstances. Anxiety, fear, and hopelessness are a few emotions that can linger post traumatic events. I can help you overcome these symptoms and hold you through the process of grief and healing.
